JUMP-START YOUR COMMUNITY!
Are you looking for a quick and easy way to Jump-Start your community's efforts in becoming more bicycle and pedestrian-friendly? That's why we've created the Community Jump-Start Program.
WHAT IS IT?
A high-impact program designed to provide your community with key recommendations, and action steps for how to increase connectivity and grow bicycle and pedestrian-friendliness.
WHAT’S INCLUDED
On-site workshop
A 2.5-hour educational workshop for up to 25 community stakeholders.
Walk audit
A ~2-hour walk audit within a designated area of your community. A walk audit is an interactive walking tour designed to highlight and assess opportunities and challenges related to bicycle and pedestrian safety, accessibility, and comfort.
online community survey
An online survey designed to gather real-world feedback from your community.
DETAILED REPORT AND SCORECARD
A report outlining key recommendations and action steps that your community can implement to increase bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and culture.
Value of the Scholarship if selected: $15,850-$20,850
Scholarship Opportunity Available
The Kansas State Technical Assistance to Brownfields(KSU TAB) program has partnered with Laneshift to offer the Jump-Start program at no cost for up to two qualifying communities in 2025.
Steps to Apply:
Step #1: Review the application and eligibility criteria below
Step #2: Complete and submit the application by March 15, 2025.
Step #3: Laneshift and KSU TAB will review all applications received. The top 5 candidates will be contacted to set up a 30-minute call to discuss the program and determine eligibility.
Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must represent local governments, nonprofits, quasi-governmental entities, or Tribal communities. Communities must be located within EPA Regions 5, 6, 7, or 8. More information on EPA Regions can be found HERE. Submitting an application or having a 30-minute discussion does not imply that a community will be awarded a scholarship for the program.
